pub enum PacketType {
Host,
Broadcast,
Multicast,
OtherHost,
Outgoing,
Loopback,
}Expand description
The type of a packet.
The type is passed internally along with each packet as part of packet metadata. For incoming packets the value is set based on the L2 headers.
Variants§
Host
Packet addressed to the local host (PACKET_HOST).
Broadcast
Packet addressed to all hosts on the local network (PACKET_BROADCAST).
Multicast
Packet addressed to a multicast group (PACKET_MULTICAST).
OtherHost
Packet addressed to another host, received in promiscuous mode
(PACKET_OTHERHOST).
Outgoing
Packet originated from the local host (PACKET_OUTGOING).
Loopback
Packets looped back for local delivery, e.g. multicast and broadcast
while being delivered to local sockets. Note that this excludes packets
sent to the unicast loopback IP - those are marked as
PacketType::Host.
(PACKET_LOOPBACK).
