Retrieves an instantaneous snapshot of the battery status.

Returns:

+ `status`: Complete current telemetry snapshot of battery metrics.

Errors:

- `IO`: Communication failure with the fuel gauge hardware (e.g. I2C transfer failure).

- `INTERNAL`: Internal driver error.
